The Division reduced Eastside Coal's subsidence
monitoring to an annual basis during the temporary cessation period
(MLR letter dated May 16, 1986).
Based on the Division's decision during the previous inactive period,
Eastside Coal assumed that the subsidence monitoring requirements would
fall back to that decision during the present temporary cessation. On
an annual schedule, the next subsidence monitoring would be due
December 1989. Once mining operations resume, subsidence monitoring
would be required quarterly.
Sincerely,
Linda Limbach
Eastside Coal Company, Inc.
/11
