DIAL T19-53915]]
T19-539E3)B .
FAX )19-539-]5]3
December 12, 2001
~~~~~~~~~~ ~ SALIDA. COLORA00 81201
State of Colorado
Division of Minerals & Geology
1313 Sherman Street, Rm 215
Denver, CO 80203
Ref: Permit #M-1987-127
A Technical Revision
RECEIVED
DEC 14 1001
Giv/sion ai Minerals and Ceo10
9Y
This is a Technical Revision to Butala Permit #M-1987-127 regarding changes-
modification to the reclamation plan for this pit operation. The original reclamation plan
included a map indicating that drainage would be directed southward, away from the
headwall. On this map, the base area extends from the headwall inclined toward the
south slope with no designated drainage route that would eliminate erosion of the slope
itself.
An updated reclamation plan has been initiated and expedited that will resolve the
problems existing with the original plan. An updated map is included with this Technical
Revision outlining the new reclamation program.
For the new reclamation program afour-foot berm has been installed around the entire
south perimeter of the existing base area. The slope of the base area has been reversed
from that of the original reclamation plan. The slope is now on a gradient of 10' to 1'
northwazd toward the headwall. There is a drainage area at the base of the headwall that
collects drainage and disperse it into a fractured rock bottom of the connected two-basin
collection area.
The new reclamation plan will result in a calm, previously graded, surface with no
erosion problems. It will also result in a stable-calm surface that will hold topsoil
properly, allowing revegitation of the area for reclamation.
This new reclamation plan will affect the reclamation bond required by the Colorado
Department of Minerals & Geology. Mr. Jim Dillie and Mr. Jim Stevens of Division of
Minerals & Geology was made aware of the new reclamation plan during a conference at
the Division of Minerals & Geology office in Denver on 11 December 2001.
iii iiiiiiiiiiiii~ii ,
~~~~~ VOST OFFICE BO% 90T
EVERV CONSTRUCTION SERVICE
FROM THE DRAFTING BOARD TO THE BUILDING
