MV#
Doc Date (if no dab
Doc Name MI(LA-
Pebruary 13, 2007 From DRMS/Other
To DRMS/Other
Reci Tents
Confidential? AF.~
TypeSeq AM-oz
To Whom It May Concern: P - -' `"`
Matk and myself are not able to attend this meeting, So we are sending this letter
with Jill Hansen to represent our point of view on this issue.
I am writing in regards to the approval of the expansion of the Thompson Gravel
Pit. We are still opposing this expansion to the gravel pit. There are several reasons
why we think that this is an irresponsible decision. One is that there currently is ~t any
legal agreement on the wale issues. Another is the possible health effects of the people
who live here and to the kids that attend school literally right next door. Another reason
is that we feel that a gravel pit does not belong in the middle of a residential
neighborhood, right next door to Middle Park High School, and this close to town. We
feel that it is not worth the risk of exposing the property owners, citizens, and community
to the possible negative, detrimental, and irreversible effects of the dust and noise.
We all purchased our homes long before this was an issue and I'm confident that
if we knew of this possible expansion, this would have been a make or break factor on
our decisions to purchase property adjacent to this expansion.
Your own words state that the pit should be 200 R from any man made structure.
We are requesting that in the event of an approval that you honor that 200 R from the
power poles that supply our home with power. They sit just to the south of my property
line on the Thompson Property. We are asking you to address our concerns and
questions with the decisions that will be made. You claim that the water is issue is not a
problem, but what if the water is a problem in 10 years or so7 Then what do we do?
Who will be respoffiible for out loss? What if tyre is some major effect to breathing in
dust for years? Please keep in mind that these people will speed 8 hours/day, 5 days a
week. We will be exposed 24/7. We all would like to view some type of proposal to
protect the potential problems that we may encounter with our wells. We would be more
at ease if we felt that we had something in place to protect our Est vahtable resource.
Thank you for your time.
Lisa and Mark Mirabito
,~ r2~t~...,f~._.
