Frei
Albert Frei and Sons, Inc.
11521 Brighton Road
Henderson, CO 80640
Dear Albert;
RE: M&G Pit, M-B6-079
Exhibit L - Reclamation Costs
Attached are the numbers I came up with for the estimated
reclamation costs for the Technical Revision to be submitted this
month. The data used to estimate the costs are based on the
current disturbance at the site, and the various activities needed
to reclaim the site. Since you have topsoil/growth medium
stockpiled along the edges of the excavated area I did not add a
cost to resoil the setbacks and above water slopes. My understand-
ing is that you will be using part of that material to shape the
slopes around the lake and in so doing you will already have spread
soil on and graded the area needing topsoil around the lake. The
exception is on the 10.00 acres ± that is plant site area, here you
would need to resoil the area after the gravel piles are removed.
Attached is a sketch of the bank slope cross-section showing
how I calculated the cubic yards per linear foot number used to
determine the amount of dirt work needed on the perimeter of the
excavation. I estimated the existing slopes were lh to lv and the
reconstructed slopes would be 3h to lv, so an additional 9.72 cy/lf
would be needed to complete the slopes according to the law. I
used acerages derived from the 1993 annual report, the existing
mining and reclamation plans. The plan calls for recoiling to a
depth average of 5 inches.
