.~
TECHNICAL REVISION #6 JULY 1987 R E C E I V E D
PIREVIEw uQ ARRY JUL 161987
PERMIT N0. M-77-211 MINED LAND
CASTLE CONCRETE COMPANY RECjAMAT10N DIVISION
REVISION IN BRIEF: This technical revision modifies previously approved
plans under the 1985 approved Grading and Drainage Plan for the Pikeview
Quarry Shop Slope and Technical Revision #5. This revision, Technical
Revision #6, addresses the additional and subsequent problem of the
slumping on the east end of the ahoy slope. It also describes an
expansion of the sediment pond area which will permit backfilling the
entire area of the old access road thereby producing gentle slopes into
the drainage course and hill above the old access road. The plan
includes this narrative description of the project as well as the
accompanying map. No effect will occur on the permitted reclamation plan
or the bonding for the operation.
INTRODUCTION AND HISTORY: The complex situation in the vicinity of the
Pikeview Shop has been developing for sometime. The first step occurred
in the 1982 amendment to the permit which provided for regrading the
slope behind and to the north of the shop. An inspection was
subsequently performed by Philip Saletta of the Division of Mined Land
Reclamation. In his inspection he noted the instability in the slope to
the south of the shop and requested corrective action be taken. That
plan was submitted on April 10, 1985 and accepted. Because regrading
the slope to the south would remove a good deal of work area, Technical
Revision #5 was submitted (May 10, 1985) in order to modify the original
regrading plan for the slope north of the shop. TR #5 offset the lose
of land to the south of the shop. The stability problem to the south of
the shop was not actually part of a technical revision but wes a
response to an inspection item. It is our recollection that Mr. Saletta
preferred the item be dealt with as a response rather than ae a
technical revision, although our desire was for the latter.
Page 1 of 6 Pikeview TR N0.6 July 1987
