The reducer
coupling and end plug shall be attached to the; [ubing with glue and hose clamps. Site installation
personnel shall avoid cinching the polyethylene tubin_ during installation. Jf the tubing becomes
cinched, the section shall he cut out and a barbed nipple inserted.
• The emitters (drip heads) shall be attached to the polyethylene tubing at approximately 5 foot
intervals. The emitters shall be at[ached according to the manufacture's instructions. The emitters
shall be rated for a minimum pressure of 60 psi and have a flow rating of Z gallons per hour (gph).
The emitters shall be pressure compensating so [hat the desired flow rata is maintained. In addition,
the emitters shall be self cleaning.
The polyethylene tubing and attached emitters shall be placed inside 4-inch diameter, flexible drain
tubing (commonly referred to as French Drain). The drain pipe shall be slotted or perforated. The
appropriate couplings shall be used to attach the sections of drain cubing together. The drain tubing
is commonly sold in 100 foot length;: therefore, a minimum of three attachment couples shall be
obtained. An end cap shall be placed on the upstream side of the drain pipe to prevent entry of any
large material.
• The drain tubing with enclosed 3/4-inch polyethylene tubing and emitters shall be secured to the adit
wall at approximately 5 foot intervals.
