Walther
Executive DlreClOr
Ronald W. Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
The B West Mains changed directions approximately 15 degrees to the west, and panel WB-1
was shortened approximately 300 feet. Panel WB-1 is extended, by headgate work,
approximately 500 feet the full length of the panel to the S W, past the present permit boundary.
This moved the extent of underground mining to within 400 feet of Terror Creek from the earlier
800 feet. The permit boundary is properly extended to accommodate the proposed expansion.
The expansions move the workings closer to the bum limit at the extreme south end. Designation
errors on the approved plan were corrected by the submittal for the WB1 HEADGATE" (2
EACH) AND THE WB2 HEADGATE (were previously labeled WD1 and 2).
D-Seam Mine Plan Review:
The WD3 Panel, including gateworks, is extended 1500 feet to the southeast, terminating neaz
the burn limit.
Subsidence:
The projected limits of subsidence have been modified. At the western most mining, the extent of
subsidence once 350 feet from is now within 150 feet from Terror Creek. The legend coloring is
off for the extent of subsidence line and completed D-seam workings. Suggested comment to the
applicant is: Please match the legend coloring with the extent of subsidence based on mine
plan line (red to magenta in the legend) and the completed D-seam workings (light to heavy
red in the legend) on Map 27 of the submittal.
No revised Map 27A was found in the packet. The permit boundary is the only thing that would
change. Maybe all mans in the Dermit need to be revised to show the new boundary.
Subsidence monitoring:
Map 27-B has been modified appropriately.
Office of Office of Colorado
Mined Land Reclamation Active and Inactive Mines Geological Survey
