' Replicate measurements will be made a minimum of one time per
sample period in the following manner:
(1) collect a sample of water into measurement vessel;
' (2) measure field parameters;
(3) rinse instrument probes in de-ionized water; and
(4) re-measure field parameters.in same sample.
' 2.2.10 Sample Filtration: Samples requiring on-site filtration will be
filtered using a filter apparatus, which filters through a 0.45-
' micron membrane.
Samples will be preserved directly following filtration.
Filter apparatus, unless disposable, will be cleaned by having the
solutions "pulled" through the apparatus prior to, and after, each
use in the following manner:

(1) mild non-phosphatic detergent wash;
(2) tap water rinse;
(3) final rinse with de-ionized water.
Following a filtration series of no more than 1o samples, a rinse
blank will be collected from the cleaned apparatus or, if
applicable, through an un-used filter cartridge, by running
laboratory-provided de-ionized, distilled water throughout the
entire filtering apparatus. Analysis of this rinse blank will be
used to validate cleaning procedures.
-18-
