5) In Exhibit E, the seed mix does not contain enough variety of grass species and
contains no shrubs. Within Exhibit I and J a number of desirable species of
grass and shrubs are noted by the NRCS. Please revise the seed mix to better
reflect those noted within those exhibits.
6) Map C-2 shows an "isolation berm" in the northwestern corner of the pit along a
reclaimed slope. Staff asks for clarification as to how this berm can be placed
or removed from this location without disturbing reclaimed areas.
7) The location of the CKP ditch is noted as being elevated. Please clarify that no
lifting or pumping will be necessary to ensure proper flows are maintained in the
ditch.
8) Staff has questions of whether the relocated CKP ditch will create a stability
issue through saturation above proposed 2FI:1 V slopes. Please clarify if the
ditch will be lined or give supportive data that will assure staff of the slope
stability. Staft would like to suggest the relocation of the ditch actually be more
directly along the southern boundary then out into the permitted area or lining
the ditch in this specific area.
These reviewed issues do not imply that all other requirements are met. Further
adequacy review will be undertaken on this application as relevant information is
supplied and analyzed.
