Response 1. The increase in production will occur incrementally over the next permit term (ending 2001).MCC will submit revision applications as necessary to make any necessary modifications to West Elk Mine's facilities. No modifications to equipment aze needed at this time. Response 2. Mountain Coal Company has submitted an application to the Air Pollution Control Division to increase the annual through-put to 8.2 million tons per year (IvIMTPY) and anticipates approval by spring 1996, well in advance of reaching 8.2 MMTPY production. A copy of the permit will be provided to the Division (via a minor revision) upon approval by the Air Pollution Control Division. Response 3. The revised Exhibit 67 calculations used the data (Annual Hydrology Report) from the 1994 Water Year as a basis for projecting the 1996 potable water usage of 13.2 acre-feet. Additional miscellaneous water usage including additional workforce, equipment wash water, and surface road dust suppression was calculated to be 10.0 acre feet. The total miscellaneous water use was projected to be approximately 23.2 acre feet. Response 4. No response is necessary.
