OMAHA DISTRICT
TRI-LAKES PROJECT OFFICE, 9307 STATE HWY 1 21
LITTLETON, COLORADO 80123-6901
~iiEMaonoF August 22, 1994
Mr. Bill York-Feirn
Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
III Ilullllllllll III
999
.- ~
p~G •,~, .1994
,•;9r
,r V
Dear Mr. York-Feirn:
This letter is the result of our recent telephone com~ersation
concerning the Corps' contact with Ron Richardson, the operator of
the Herman Feit Pit located in Section 26, Township 6 North, Range
66 West, Weld County, Colorado.
Terry McKee, of this office, made a site visit on F~ugust 5,
1994, and determined which areas of this site are consider.=d waters
of the United States. Letters A and B on the enclosed drawing are
the open water portions of the old channel and include fringe
wetlands - these were determined to be the only jurisdictional
areas.
I spoke with Skip Harding, consultant to Ron Richardson, on
August 15, 1994, and was told that impacts to the jurisdictional
areas would probably be three to five years in the future. They
are aware of the need to obtain a Section 404 permit if areas A or
B will be impacted.
I hope this meets your needs. If you have any more questions,
please call me at (303) 979-4120 and reference ID #199480504.
Sincerely,
Sandra E.
