OS-00294 and OS-04452 <br />(9) Interests in Lands <br />Somerset Mining Company applied for and obtained Federal Coal Lease COC- <br />53510, effective November 1, 1992. <br />The Lease was transferred to Pacific Basin Resources, a Division of Oxbow <br />Carbon & Minerals, Inc., effective September 28, 1995. <br />On April 1, 1996, Oxbow Carbon & Minerals, Inc. filed an application for <br />modification of Federal Coal Lease COC-53510. The lease modification sought <br />to add an additional 157.55 acres on the north and east boundaries of the <br />current lease area. Oxbow Carbon & Minerals, Inc. withdrew this application <br />January 8, 1997. Oxbow Carbon & Minerals, Inc. also filed an application for <br />right-of-way June 5, 1996 and withdrew that application October 28, 1996. <br />On October 2, 1997, Oxbow Carbon & Minerals, Inc. filed an application for <br />assignment of Federal Coal Lease COC-53510 to Oxbow Mining, Inc. as its <br />successor in interest.
