For flow data, see Section 3.0.
D Air spurge Rate
7
7
J

The air sparged into the pH Adjustment Tank is provided by
a lobe-type blower, 04-CP-03. The four sparg{e pipes are
fitted with Mast=gates for flow balancing, but blower
output is fixed. See Section 3.0 for data.~~ a,~,,~,,,,,. d.~lP„Ir
Air Temperature and Pressure ~ t ~•,~ r~+~:
IK,~.~ a:.•~~
Temperature and pressure of the spurge air arse indicated
locally downstream of the blower silencer (TI 434 and PI 433
respectively). ~ ~ rG.(,t I
/ I ~i
µµ Y/ N
slurry pH v ~ ~luw ~nN, '~
5 ~l s
A pH probe (AE 435) is located in the feed laumder to the
carbon safety screen 04-SC-lo, measuring the pH of the
slurry stream discharging from the pH Adjustment Tank. The
pH signal is used to open and close valve A 435 in the
delivery line from the Sulfuric Acid Metering Pump 06-PP-
32. The valve opens when the pH
falls to 10.5 and closes when the pH reaches 11.5.
pj/1481rp 012591
6-1
D
