~ ~ III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII ~~
STATE OF COLORADO
Roy Romer, Governor
n
~U ~
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
MINED LAND RECLAMATION DIVISION
FRED R. BANTA, Director
September 14, 1989
Mr. Ridc Mills
Colorado Yampa Coal Company
29587 Routt County Road No. 27
Oak Creek, CO 80467
RE: Minor Revision 43 - Post-Mining Topography - C-81-071
Dear Mr. Mills:
We received the above-referenced minor revision application on August 31, 1989
and a copy has been available in our office for public review since that
time. Please know that we appreciate your cooperation in extending the
decision deadline to September 15, 1989.
The revision can be approved with tJ1e submittal of one additional piece of
information. Please submit, as soon as possible, the following materials:
1. A revised permit renewal Map 7 which shows:
a.) the potential new location for topsoil pile 33-31;
b.) the seven acre topsoil salvage area; and,
c.) the potential locations to be used for windrowed topsoil
storage.
The approval documents will be sent to you as soon as this map is received.
Finally, it is our understanding that those portions of cross-sections A,
B and C located below the downslope topsoil line, and labeled "proposed",
actually reflect "on the ground" conditions. Therefore, final topography
blending at the lower areas will not require topsoil salvage and will not
result in a upward bump or roll in the topography at the lower topsoil line.
Notify us immediately if this is not an accurate understanding of the
situation.
As always, your cooperation is appreciated. Please call if you have any
questions regarding this letter.
Si nce~~ _
/%
vid .Berry
Reclamation Specialist
DAB/yjb
cc: Michael Savage
9677E
215 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203-2273 Tel.
