Flow will not be diverted from Strain
Gulch into the pit. Whether a pond is formed or not, the pit will be
physically and hydrologically isolated from Strain Gulch and any
diversion works associated with final reclamation.
The present plan will incorporate Alternative II for handling flows
in Strain Gulch. All storm runoff and snow melt will go directly into
Strain Gulch as before and there should be no affect on the water
resource situation with respect to any downstream users.
I sincerely hope that this response in addition to those submitted
earlier regarding wildlife impacts will satisfy all your concerns on
this matter.
Sincerely,
e Hynes
En Bering Geologist
JLH/jc
cc: Hal D.
