~~ ` ~ r
since 1989, with one exception.
In order to properly evaluate the bedrock monitoring well reduction
the following questions need to be answered:
a) When were the bedrock wells establish? Completion information
needs to be submitted including the date of completion.
b) The probable hydrologic consequences section of the approved
permit states that "20 feet of shale between the lowest mined
seam and the lower sandstone of the Burro Canyon formation
will eliminate any effects on the aquifer from the mining
operation." Evidence indicates a lowering of the piezometric
surface in and adjacent to the permit area. What is the
explanation for the drawdown in the Burro Canyon aquifer?
c) Does a well permit exist for the beneficial use of
groundwater?
Please have the operator respond to the above issues in the near
future so I can complete my review of TR-06. If you have
questions, let me know.
