Figure lA shows the location of the site investigation area. Depending upon • the amount of work required, one or more test pits will be excavated in the area. One pit will require a dozer to prepare a bench for the backhoe. However, as stated above topsoil will be salvaged from the area prior to commencing bench construction or pit excavation. The bench and pit will be backfilled when no longer needed. The pit areas will be backfilled and the topsoil will be redistributed and seeded with the rangeland seed mixture. Drainage from the area is controlled by Pond D. Ditch D-1 will be temporarily rerouted in front of the tube facility to allow for better working condition, After the site project has been completed it will be returned to its original location. The coal storage at the tipple was expanded and the details are provided on pages 780-35(a), (b), and (c) of permit C-81-071. Railroad The railroad track was extended approximately 300 feet in 1987. The details of the extension are enumerated within Minor Revision 87-12. • Sedimentation Ponds All changes to sedimentation ponds are discussed under Section 780 (see page 780-208-1). Powerlines Several revisions and modifications to the location of powerlines have been approved. The current location of all powerlines are shown on Permit Renewal Maps 4 and 5, Mine Plan, Roads, Power Lines and Facilities. During 1988, a substation was built to supply power to the ongoing TCC underground mining operation. (See MR 88-17, Substation Installation, Permit C-82-056 for specific details). In order to facilitate the final reclamation of the mine a new substation will be installed near "Trudy's Corner". This relocated substation will provide power to the 8050 into its dismantling area. The specifics of the revision requesting approval can be found in Minor Revision 90-51. • MR 90-51 Permit Renewal 780-30-3 Revised 05/21/90
