:~
During the present permit term, the coal seam underlaying the en-
tire present permit area will be developed and mined to a depth
of approximately 800 feet. Toward the end of the present permit
term, the development of the next lower level, down to ap-
proximately 1,500 feet will begin and will be completed during
the next reneal period. During the future permit renewals the
development will proceed to a depth of approximately 2,200 to
2,500 feet. As the operations proceed, there will be no horizon-
tal change in the affected surface area.
All phases will be "stacked" on top of each other and will be
within the same surface area. No expansion from the present per-
mit area is envisioned at this time, Due to the steep pitch of
the coal seams to be produced from this project during this and
future permit renewals, following the development of the upper-
most level during the present permit term, all future operations
will be beneath the same surface area.
I trust that the the above information are satisfactory.
Sincerely,
E. Peter Matthies
®Il ~~II ~l„~~61 ~,~l1
