Box 187 <br />Craig, Colorado 81626 <br />RE: Blasting Plans for Browning/Colt Pits <br />Dear Mr. Agnew: <br />After review of your correspondence dated December 18, 1991, the Division <br />feels it is necessary to request that your plan to blast within 300 feet <br />of a powerline and within 600 feet of an occupied dwelling be submitted to <br />the Dl vision as a Technical revision to your permit. Compliance with Rule <br />4.08, Use of Explosives, will be required, unless otherwise approved by the <br />Division. Specific areas that need to be addressed would be: <br />a. Blast design, poundage, pattern <br />b. Accurate distance to structures of concern <br />c. Monitoring plans (peak particle velocity) <br />d. Notice and evacuation plans <br />e. Projected flyrock distance <br />f. Anticipated airblast monitoring <br />g. Mitigation plans assuming damages <br />h. Any other supporting documents, maps, letters, etc. <br />The Division understands that Trappers operational planning anticipates <br />blasting to begin in this area in February and we will expedite the decision <br />making as soon as we receive the required information. <br />If you have questions or concerns please feel free to contact me. <br />Sincerely, <br />Kent A.
