Lonl; <br />ow~siun olrer~or <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116. <br />Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on July 2, 1997, an application to revise coal mining operations <br />at the Seneca II Mine was considered complete for the purposes of tiling. The revision was submitted by Seneca <br />Coal Company. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date <br />of Filing. <br />The revision presents [he final reclamation topsoil management plan for the Seneca II Mine. The topsoil managmen[ <br />plan addresses the topsoil defeci[ for 497 acres of disturbed land. <br />The surface coal mining operation is on land located approxitna[ely 9 miles southeast of Hayden. The permit area <br />is further described as follows: <br />TSN, R87W; All of Sections 1, 2 and 12; Portions of Sections 3, I l and 13 <br />T6N, R87W; Portions of Sections 27, 34, 35 and 36 <br />TSN, R86W; portions of Sections 6 and 7. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Milner. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Routt County Courthouse, Box <br />773598, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477, and at [he Division office. For additional information or to provide written <br />comments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Rootn 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, <br />Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments <br />be submitted within fifteen (IS) days of this letter.
