The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116.
Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on July 2, 1997, an application to revise coal mining operations
at the Seneca II Mine was considered complete for the purposes of tiling. The revision was submitted by Seneca
Coal Company. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date
of Filing.
The revision presents [he final reclamation topsoil management plan for the Seneca II Mine. The topsoil managmen[
plan addresses the topsoil defeci[ for 497 acres of disturbed land.
The surface coal mining operation is on land located approxitna[ely 9 miles southeast of Hayden. The permit area
is further described as follows:
TSN, R87W; All of Sections 1, 2 and 12; Portions of Sections 3, I l and 13
T6N, R87W; Portions of Sections 27, 34, 35 and 36
TSN, R86W; portions of Sections 6 and 7.
The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Milner.
A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Routt County Courthouse, Box
773598, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477, and at [he Division office. For additional information or to provide written
