MR. HARRY RANNEY
SEPTEMBER 27, 1995
PAGE 2

Wells GW-N10, GW-N26 and GW-N28 have historically remained dry. It is proposed that field
monitoring of these wells be done on an annual basis. The field monitoring will return to monthly
basis If water is found.
We will keep the quarterly sampling frequency for NPDES Outfalls 001 through 007 including weekly
field monitoring of Outfalls 001 and 007 and monthly monitoring of Outfalls 001 through 007. We
propose to revise sampling frequency of other sites to annual for NH1 mine and to semi-annual for
NH2 mine. This request is based upon the iad that water quality has shown no abnormality in the
past, and field sampling on a monthly basis would detect any abrupt change in the water quality.
The Division may require higher monitoring frequency if future monitoring shows a Vend toward
poorer water quality.
We propose to analyze the following laboratory parameters.
Bicarbonate Dissolved mgA
Calcium Dissolved mgA
Carbonate Dissolved mgA
Chloride Dissolved mgA
Specific Conductance @ 25°c Dissolved mgA
Iron -~}, ~e~, ~'., s~r~. ~~ Dissolved mgA
Lead -k~, roc {u.- svr~, w~c~w Dissolved mgA
Manganese -~~, rCC, i°~- s~v~ ~.,.~ Dissolved mgA
pH @ 25°c Direct Measurement units
Selenium Dissolved NgA
Sodium Dissolved frgA
Sulfate Dissolved mgA
Total Suspended Solids Filtered mgA
Cation/Anion Balance Calculated percent
Total Dissolved Solids @ 180°c Calculated mgA
Total Dissolved Solids, Calculated Calculated mgA
