The operator would like to relocate the processing site closer to the existing mining
operation, in an area which is already disturbed. Please refer to the attached mining plan for the
proposed location of the processing area, settling ponds and stockpiles. The reclamation plan will
change slightly. Firestien Pond 2 will be reduced to approximately 7.6 acres, the upland area will be
increased to 21.2 acres and the wetland area will be about 10.2 acres. Please note that Hall-Irwin
Corporation is exploring the potential of banking wetlands created above and beyond any wetland
mitigation that may be required on this site.
The proposed revision will not change the reclamation costs. The original permit calculated
reclamation costs for the point in time when [he mining disturbance would be at its maximum -during
the mining of the southern end of Phase 2. Relocating the processing equipment will not increase the
azea of disturbance.
Please call me if you have any questions. Thank you for your assistance.
Sincerely,
ROC ~~M~~O^^UnnNTAIN CONSULTANTS, INC.
~f4~
Danna Ortiz
Natural Resources Planner
Attachment
cc: Jeff Gregg, Hall-Irwin Corporation
H:\0636_OSSVv1LRB\TechniwlRevision l .wpd
CIVIL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING PLANNING
