The Maverick placer will use two adjudi-
cated wells for the water supply. Lionell Well No. 1, Case W-3238, will
be used for domestic purposes. Lionell Well No. 2, Case W-3238, is used
for commercial and industrial purposes. The Rules and Regulations of the
State Engineer regulating the use of tributary ground water in the Arkansas
River Basin will restrict the use of Well No. 2 to 72 hours of pumping each
week. The applicant must obtain written approval from the Division Engineer
for Water Division No. 2 of his plan to operate the well in accordance with the
Rules and Regulations.
Since the applicant has not indicated his water requirements, it is difficult to
estimate whether the applicant can operate the well in accordance with the
Rules and Regulations and still have sufficient water. Therefore, we do not
recommend approval until the applicant provides more information which
addresses the above.
Hal DASimpson
HDS/RLS:mvf
cc: Robert Jesse, Div.
