This is another state
agency saying -- not maybe, but it should be.
UNIDENTIFIED PERSON: I will answer that
question. I haven't been sworn in, if that matters.
(Witness sworn.)
UNIDENTIFIED PERSON: The Division of
Wildlife (inaudible) native habitat. (Inaudible)
e community. Both of those are considered dryland
type of vegetation in the respect that's an area
l0 away from the stream bottom.
When someone says riparian vegetation,
they mean the type of vegetation that grows in an
area which is basically subirrigated. Cattails or
rushes, sedges, your willows, things that grow right
along the wet areas adjacent to creeks, or whatever.
So re-vegetating back to riparian
community would not be practical, in that we don't
have that wet condition in the areas that will be
reclaimed and it would not be successful.
In addition, I would also like to add,
that re-vegetation mixture that is specified fcr the
area does include two shrubs or at least one,
mountain mahogany, which is a native and a
semi-shrub, winterfat, which is good for livestock.
UNIDENTIFIED PERSON: Is a four-strand
AGREN, SLANDO & BILLINGS
