IIIIIIIII{111111111 999 Proposed PQBLIC NOTICE Southfield Mine RN-03 Energy Fuels Coal Inc. (EFCI), P.O. Box 459, 1190 County Road 92, Florence, Colorado 81226, has filed an application for renewal of its existing Mining and Reclamation Permit No. C-81-014 with the State of Colorado, Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG). Both the original permit and subject renewal have been developed and submitted pursuant to the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act, 1973 C.R.S. 34-33-101 et seq., and Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act, 30 U.S.C. 1201 et seq. Areas to be affected by the proposed operation are encompassed by the Southfield permit area and include both the Southfield Mine area and the Loadout area. These areas are located in south central Colorado in Fremont County. The Southfield Mine area is located approximately seven miles south of Florence, Colorado, on County Road 92. The mine area is bounded on the south and west by the base of the Wet Mountains, and Newlin Creek bisects the mine area fran southwest to northeast. The Southfield Loadout area is located approximately one mile west of Florence, Colorado, on County Road 79 and the Santa Fe Railroad spur line. The Loadout area ie bounded on the north by Chandler Creek, and on the south by Oak Creek. The location and boundaries of the Southfield Mine and Loadout permit areas are shown on the adjacent maps. The Southfield Mine area is located on the following sections: Sections 19, 30, and 31; Township 20S, Range 69W Sections 23, 24, 25, 26 and 36; Township 20S, Range 70W The Southfield Loadout Area is located on the following sections: Sections 17 and 18; Township 195, Range 69W These sections are covered by the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute Rockvale quadrangle map (Mine Area), and the Canon City quadrangle map (Loadout Area).
