The
steel sleeve will be packed with dry bentonite.
Proposed utilities will riot be sleeved. The following is their construction
sequence:
a. Lower the work platform elevation at the installation locations to the
invert elevationof the pipes.
b. Install the slurry wall to the required key-in depth from the lowered work
pad using soil-cement-bentonite backfill.
c. Place pipes at the proper grade with the assistance of a surveyor.
d. Place backfill over the pipes, leaving the pipe exposed in an
approximately3-foot section at the alignment of the slurry wall.
e. Place soil-cement-bentonite backfill a minimum of four feet thick around
the pipe at the slurry wall alignment.
f. Place the remainder of the backfill over the soil-cement-bentonite and
pipes to the work platform elevation.
g. Install the remainder of the slurry wall by tying into the previously placed
sections around the pipes.
22.The following table summarizes the noxious weed species currently existing on
the site and proposedtreatment for control or eradication. Chemical treatment
will be performed by a qualified contractor. The contractor will be asked to
comply with all applicable laws, to avoid damaging the existing cottonwood
trees and sandbar willow beyond the grading limits, and to avoid damaging lake
and river water quality. Specific herbicide recommendations for each species
can be found on the Weld County web site and will be determined in
conjunction with the contractor. Following initial weed treatment, the area will
be seeded with grassas per seed mixes in this submittal.
G:\3811\3811-DMG Permi[\DMG Adequacy Rvw Response\3811 Response Letter DMG.doc
