B&B Excavating, Inc. Montgomery Pit Sand & Gravel Operation
M-1986-104 RECEIVED
Addendum to Allow Imported Materials
September, 2002
SEP (! 4 2002
Division of Minerals and Geology
B&B Excavating, Inc. desires to potentially import the following items at this permit:
1) Topsoil, which may contain rock, which will be screened to produce gravel and topsoil. The
gravel will be crushed and sold as road base or other construction material and the topsoil will be
sold or stored on the site for reclamation. Since the past mining has disturbed considerable
acreage without salvaging topsoil, the permittee desires to stockpile as much topsoil as possible
from future operations. It is estimated that 1000 to 5000 tons of topsoil/rock material will be
brought to the site on a yearly basis.
2) Broken concrete and possibly other construction material which will be reprocessed and used
as backfill or sold as road base or other end uses. It is estimated that 2000 to 18000 tons of
concrete or other construction material will be brought to the site on a yearly basis.
The operator will investigate all materials prior to bringing them on site to ensure that they
contain no contaminants of any kind. Also, concrete will not contain rebaz that extends out from
the concrete pieces. The operator has enclosed a signed affidavit that certifies that all materials
brought to the site will be clean and inert.
