Long Mc Paul Garret Division Director District 3 Supervisor Fremont County 615 Macon Ave, Rm 105 Canon City CO 81212 RE: Coaldale Gravel Pit (Permit M-1978-096) Receipt of Completeness Response Package for AM-1 Dear Mr. Garret: On May 20, 2002, the Division of Minerals and Geology received your response to the Division`s Vetter of April 25, 2002 in which the results of the Division's preliminary review of your amendment application for the Coaldale Pit were provided to you. The Division's review of your response has now determined that the following items must be satisfactorily addressed before the Division can consider your application as being submitted and the technical review can begin: EXH1617 B: The Exhibit B provided in your response identifies Exhibit B as an "Index Map" located "In Amendment Application". If you will refer to the enclosed copy of Construction Materials Rule 6.3 which provides the specific permit application exhibit requirements for 1 tOc applications and amendments, you will note that Exhibit B is not to consist of an "Index Map" but is to provide a Site Description. Much, but not all, of the information required for this Exhibit is included under Exhibit D in the original application. You have, however, neither satisfied the requirement Please either provide the information required for Exhibit B under an exhibit properly labeled as Exhibit B or clearly identify where in the original application the information necessary to satisfy the requirements of Exhibit B is to be found. 'EXHIBIT C: The exhibit labeled Exhibit C and provided in your original amendment application is an index map more properly part of what should be Exhibit A (for 110 applications). The Exhibit C provided in your response is indicated to be a "Premining and Mining Plan Map". If you will refer to the enclosed copy of Construction Materials Rule 6.3, you will note that Exhibit C (for 110 applications) is required to be a description of the Mining Plan. Exhibit B in the original permit application is a Mining Plan. You have not, however, indicated that this is the mining plan you want to follow nor have you provided a minim; plan in either your original amendment application or in your response. Please either provide the information required for Exhibit C under an exhibit properly labeled as Exhibit C or clearly identify where in the original application the information necessary to satisfy the requirements of Exhibit C is to be found. EXHIBIT E: The Exhibit E provided in your response is indicated to be a "Reclamation Plan". If you will refer to the enclosed copy of Construction Materials Rule 6.3, you will note that Exhibit E (for 110 applications) is to consist of 2 maps, one that describes the features of the mining plan and one for the reclamation plan. Admittedly, Exhibit C of your response is said to be a Mining Map and Exhibit F of your response is said to be a Reclamation Map. Nevertheless, you have not satisfied the requirements of Exhibit E with the exhibit supplied as Exhibit E in your
