The
Company requests a technical revision to change the status of the gravel pit to
intermittent use.
No significant crushing and trucking operations have occurred since ] 992. The primary
users of the gravel have been Mesa County Road Department and the U. S. Forest
Service. They have utilized the gravel for road rebuilding and maintenance when needed.
This remote location, on private land, is the closest source of material for public road
maintenance in its' location near the Grand Mesa and White River National Forests.
Both government entities have expressed a desire to keep this source available.
The permitted site is used infrequently because road repairs in this azea are not on a
timetable. The last significant use occurred because landslides within the national forest
required changing the course of the road.
The status change to intermittent use does not have time frames attached to it and would
help ensure material availability when needed in the future. A check is included to cover
the technical revision for $188.00.
If you need further information, please do not hesitate to call.
Sincerely,
_' "ern-~.cl.~ /~j l~(.(iltiv`~
Merial I.
