reclaimed "talus" slope will be broadcast seeded by hand with the approved reclamation seed mix
(see Table E-1) in late fall.
E.12 Post Reclamation Monitoring and Maintenance
Monitoring of the mine site will occur on a periodic basis. Denison personnel will visit the mine
site to ensure that reclamation activities are effective and that permanent facilities, such as
permanent ditches, are in good condition.
Revegetation monitoring will be conducted on an annual basis to determine the effectiveness of
the revegetation effort. It is anticipated that a minimum of 3 years of monitoring will be required.
However, the success and progress of revegetation efforts are based on seasonal growth patterns,
precipitation, weather patterns, and disturbance. Reclamation of the Topaz Mine site will be
complete when the vegetation has been re-established to meet the following DRMS criteria:
• The land shall be revegetated in such a way as to establish a diverse, effective, and long-
lasting vegetative cover
• The vegetation is capable of self-regeneration without continued dependence on
irrigation, soil amendments or fertilizer
• The extent of cover is at least equal to the natural vegetation of the surrounding area
Reclamation of the Topaz Mine site will not be complete until vegetation is re-established to meet
the criteria of the DRMS. These criteria include the following;
• Land shall be revegetated in such a way as to establish a diverse, effective, and long-
lasting vegetative cover that is capable of self-regeneration without continued
dependence on irrigation, soil amendments or fertilizer
• Vegetative cover should be at least equal in extent of cover to the natural vegetation of
the surrounding area.
5-23-2007 Exhibit E Rec Plan E-~
