Squire
Environmental Protection Specialist
Division of Minerals and Geology
Colorado Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Re: Technical Revision (TR) to
Permit M-81 -302 (Deepe Farm Pit)
Dear Gregg:
Based on recent conversations with various staff members of the Division of Minerals and
Geology (DMG), including Bruce Humphries, Mike Long, and Carl Mount, it is my
understanding that the Division would prefer to have some additional time to review the above-
referenced TR. Therefore, on behalf of my clients, Western Mobile, I am writing to you in order
to waive the mandatory 30-day decision period for this TR.
Please note that this waiver is granted in order that additional information related to the
proposed TR can be provided to the DMG. The period of this waiver is not tied to any specific
study, e.g., Taggert. It is my client's expectation that once the DMG staff have an understanding
of the proposed TR, its effect on the South Boulder Creek flood plain, and the Federal Emergency
Management Agency's certification process, the TR decision process will move forward.
If you have any questions about this letter, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
3155 Meadow Avomr Michael J.
