Please review these issues and respond with a clarification or corrections as noted.
1) Please supoly new maps showing the change in the access road oer BLM's recuirements. The maps
should have a scale (1"=200') to measure distances so staff can determine overall Lengths and areas.
Please also state the overall estimated length of the road.
2) Exhibit F as resubmitted does not meet the requirements of Rule 6.4.6. As we discussed, the map should
reflect the final topography of the site once all work and reclamation is complete. It is important that a scale
of 1 "=200' be used so staff can estimate the amount of earth work to complete reclamation. Please submit
a map of sufficient scale and detail to show final topoaraohv and conditions after full reclamation has been
completed.
The Decision Date for this amendment is July 14`", 2005. Prior to any decision, staff will need to complete the bond
calculations and have operator agreement. Staff must have the information no later than the 11t" of July to ensure
proper review and get the bond calculations done. If Moffat Limestone cannot get the information to staff by the
11t", it must submit a letter to this Office requesting an extension to the Decision Date no later than 5:00 pm of the
14Ln.
Also, as discussed, documentation from BLM of an approved sales contract will be necessary prior to any
disturbance on site.
These reviewed issues do not imply that all other requirements are met. Further adequacy review will be
undertaken on this application as relevant information is supplied and analyzed. If you need additional information,
please contact me at the Division of Minerals and Geology, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301,
Grand Junction, CO 81501-telephone no. 970.241.1117.
Sincerely,
./l- /~.I%wt/vl
Russ Means
Environmental Protection Specialist
Office of Office of Colorado
