• timbered areas to the north end of the corridor. South facing slopes and aspen
stands along the south access road will be planted to aspen, Wood's rose, and,
if available, snowberry and serviceberry. Stocking rates for aspen will be higher
than conifer planting areas. If sufficient fines are present in talus reclamation
areas and plants are available, raspberry and snowberry will be planted.
Common understory plants such as russet buffaloberry and grouse whortleberry
will not be planted because they are representative of later forest successional
stages. Similarly, Engelmann spruce and subapline fir will not be planted as they
rely on the nurse crop effects of even aged lodgepole pine stands.
Natural conifer regeneration is expected in the section between Stations 90+00
to 97+00 and 112+00 to 125+00. For this reason, this segment of the conveyor
corridor will not receive a planting treatment.
• 4.0 COSTING INFORMATION
Detailed cost information regarding demolition of the conveyor and related
facilities, backfill and grading, topsoil application, and revegetation is found in
Exhibit L.
