The effectiveness of a number of agricultural <br />pesticides is greatly diminished when added to water with high pH. SBS works <br />particularly well with glyphosate herbicides to enhance their effectiveness. <br />Acidification with SBS is recommended as an alternative [o ammonium sulfate <br />for use with many herbicides. <br />Boiler Blowdown <br />Neutralizes boiler blowdown water before discharge into city sewers. <br />Concentrated holler water contains scale, mineral deposes, and traces of <br />alkaline chemicals with an average pH of il. Mix a 5-10% SBS solution in <br />water and meter it to the treating system [o reduce water pH to a range of 6-9 <br />for discharge. <br />Catalyst <br />SBS is used in the manufacture of esters, polyacrylamide polymers and <br />agriculture surtactants. SBS used as a catalyst offers purity not found in <br />technical grade sulfuric acid.
