Natural Resource Trustee <br />10170 Church Ranch Way, Suite 200 <br />Westminster, CO 80021-6058 <br />RE: Adequacy Review of Permit Amendment (AM1) for DBMS file M-1986-079; <br />Lafarge West, Ines M & G Pit; Adequacy Review AR-02 ~~ <br />Dear Mr. Brown: <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety (DBMS) has reviewed the <br />Response to questions dated Mazch 13, 2007 and received by DBMS Mazch 16, 2007, for <br />the permit amendment received December 26, 2006 for Lafazge West, Incorporated's <br />(Lafarge) M & G Pit located in Adams County. <br />DBMS approves the amendment, provided that Lafarge take appropriate action to prevent <br />degradation to the quality of surface water and ground water. Because Lafazge proposes <br />to use backfill material generated outside the permit azea, Lafazge will be subject to the <br />provisions of Rule 3.1.5, "Reclamation Measures- Materials Handling", that pertain to <br />backfilling. In accordance with Rule 3.1.5(9)(c), Lafarge must provide a signed affadavit <br />certifying that the material is clean and inert, as defined in Rule 1.1(20). <br />The decision date for this amendment is April 12, 2007. If you are unable to adequately <br />address this item it will be your responsibility to request an extension of the decision <br />date.
