Following are the corrections to the
application. A copy of the 3/6/071etter follows for your reference.
1. See enclosed proof of publication and notification to property owners within 200
_ feet of the proposed operation.
2 ~ See enclosedaesubmissions of the maps. ~
3. See corrected page of the application, also enclosed.
4. The corrected 6.3.3 (d) states "The thickness of the deposit does vary from six feet
deep to thirteen feet deep. The data results from the Harkin Report (a copy is
enclosed in the original submission) found the groundwater depth to be between
ten and eighteen feet. The applicant is committed not to interfere with ground
water in anyway by not excavating deeper than the ground water level (which
varies from 10-18 feet) and allowing for a substantial gap between the
groundwater level and the depth of excavation. The operator will adjust the depth
of excavation, as he gets closer to Hardscrabble Creelr; to avoid exposing
groundwater. The applicant understands that ifground water is exposed, the
operation must cease immediately and the applicant must seek remedial action
through a substitute water plan or an augmentation plan. " (Corrections in
italics). A copy of the document is enclosed.
5. If water useage is required, it will be purchased from the Town of Florence
Municipal Water System and hauled to the site via water truck. Florence has a
coin operated water delivery system. If water from Florence is unavailable, water
will be hauled in from Canon City or Colorado Springs. Any water used on this
project will be from a "legal" water source.
6. Please refer to the map for berm locations. The dirt Berm along the Northern side
of the project will be approximately 8-10 feet high and 10 feet wide. It will be
approximately 600 feet long and be approximately 2000 cubic yards.
J
