TechnicalOperatioos <br />January 29, 2000 <br />Battle Mountain Resources, Inc. <br />PO Box 310/3.5 miles North of San Luis <br />San Louis, Colorado 81152 <br />Attention: Mr. Bill Lyle <br />Environmental Director <br />RE: Operation and Maintenance Costs for Water Treatment System <br />Deaz Mr. Lyle: <br />Environmental Reclamation, Northwest LLC. (ERNW) is providing the estimated costs for <br />the long term Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of the Groundwater treatment plant at the <br />Battle Mountain Resources Inc. (BMR) San Luis property located in San Luis Colorado. <br />Background <br />In September 1999, BMR retained ERNW to design and construct a groundwater treatment <br />system at the former mining property at San Luis Colorado. During the first phase of the <br />project, ERNW designed and assembled a temporary water treatrnent system at the site. The <br />temporary system began operating in mid September and will continue operating until the <br />construction of the permanent system is complete in late January or early February 2000. The <br />treatment plant has been designed and installed under the direct supervision of Mr. Behzad <br />Mirzayi, a Professional Engineer in the state of Colorado (Colorado License # 23750). <br />Treatment Plant <br />The permanent water treatment plant that is currently under construction for BMR ;onsists of <br />the following treatment components: <br />
