Long
Division Director
As you recall at the February 20, 2002 Mined Land Reclamation Board Hearing, the Board agreed with the Division's
determination that the changes in the reclamation plan submitted under TR-04 must be resubmitted as an Amendment
to the Brighton Mine Permit, File No. M-1977-436. The Boazd confirmed the Division's position that the change to [he
reclamation plan for the north pit from a groundwater pond to a wetland habitat constitutes a significant change to the
mining and reclamation plan.
The Division received your letter dated February 22, 2002 requesting an extension of the TR-04 decision due date to
Mazch 22, 2002 to allow the operator time to submit an Amendment Application. Once the application is filed with the
Division, the $188.00 fee will be applied to the amendment application fee.
