04038 Banks and Gesso. LLC
Exhibit G -Water Information
Overview
This property is located on a glacial terrace. Piezometers installed on site show an
average groundwater elevation of 8520 feet, based on initial water level measurements.
There are 5 natural springs on-site, as shown on Exhibit C-2. Smith and Egeria Creeks
run along the southern portion of the property as shown on C-2.
Surface Water
There are no surface water bodies within the proposed mining area. Smith and Egeria
Creeks flow through the southern portion of the property. Water from Smith Creek will
be pumped for dust control purposes (see Exhibit C-3) per water rights associated with
the property.
Groundwater
This operation does not expect to encounter or affect groundwater. The applicant has
installed 3 piezometers and 2 more will be installed within a month, as shown on C-3.
Initial measurements from the piezometers in place show groundwater at an
approximate elevation of 8520 feet. They will be monitored monthly to determine the
seasonal high groundwater elevation.
Possible Impacts on Water Resources
There are no expected impacts on water resources by this proposed operation.
Water Requirements
Water pumped out of Smith Creek will be used for dust control. Water will be pumped
out of the creek by a 4,000 gallon truck once per day, or as necessary to control dust
from haul roads and stockpiles. Awash plant will not be used at this site.
King Mountain Sand & Gravel Mine 04038
King Mountain Gravel, LLC 12 November 2004
