Supplemental Geotechnical Engineering Report
Proposed Slurry Cut-off Walls @ St. vrain Development
Weld County, Colorado
Terracon Project No. 25045300
Terracon
The information obtained by geologic survey and the results of field exploration completed
for this current and previous studies indicate that the claystone and sandstone bedrock
materials have intact to moderately fractured structure. Generally, the claystone and
sandstone bedrock materials are relatively impermeable. However, the sandstone bedrock
materials within some areas of the site are very hard and strongly cemented and are highly
fractured. These zones were encountered within the western portion of the site and will
require particular attention during the design and construction phases. In addition, shallow
groundwater conditions along with the presence of gravel and cobble sized materials will
require particular attention in the design and construction. It is our opinion that the site is
suitable for the proposed construction, provided that the care is taken in the design and
construction phases of the project.
Other design and construction recommendations, based upon geotechnical conditions, are
presented in the report.
We appreciate being of service to you in the geotechnical engineering phase of this project,
and are prepared to assist you during the construction phases as well. Please do not
hesitate to contact us if you have any questions concerning this report or any of our testing,
inspection, design and consulting services.
Sincerely,
TERRACON
~f
R~ynfbnd L.
