Pond Grading
The existing Reclamation Permit is for the construction of three (3) separate ponds
north of the St. Vrain Creek. Their acreages and high water elevations are listed on
the original permit as:
Western Pond 8.32 acres HW = 4820
Middle Pond 34.29 acres HW = 4818
Eastern Pond 91.05 acres HW = 4816
Total 133.66 acres
This amendment is to reshape the ponds such that they are interconnecting, with a
total area of 93.75 acres and a high water elevation of 4819. The ponds are
shown on the Reclamation Plan Map (Exhibit F). The Map shows existing and
future grading, the location of a proposed slurry cut-off wall, pipe and conduit
locations through the slurry wall, and erosion control for construction.
2. Slurry Wall Construction
In order to seal the ponds from groundwater infiltration, a slurry cut-off wall will be
constructed around the perimeter of the re-graded ponds. The wall will average 16
feet deep and be approximately 14,300 If in length. A geotechnical report,
prepared by Terracon Consulting Engineers and Scientists, dated November 9,
2005, wil! be utilized in the design of the wall. This report is included with this
Exhibit E.
3. Drainage/Erosion Control
In addition to acting as an amenity for the community, the pond will accept limited
drainage. Sediment ponds will be constructed to capture silt north of the pond.
Two spillways will be constructed on the south side of the pond. A Stormwater
Management Plan and Erosion and Sediment Control Report is included in this
Exhibit E.
4. Seeding/Fertilization/Revegetation/Topsoiling
No change from original permit.
