The area. you have requested is designated as Zone A on the <br />Flood Insurance Rate Map. The Zone A designation identifies areas having aone-percent chance <br />of being equaled or exceeded in any given year (base flood) that is detennined by approximate <br />methods. There is no detailed modeling for this area. Please download a copy of the FEMA <br />publication "Managing Floodplain Development in Approximate Zone A Areas" from the FEMA <br />website, http://www.fema.gov/fhm/dl zoneashtm. This will help you in developing the base <br />flood elevations for the Zone A area.
