A-2
Exhibit A -Legal Description:
The City and County of Denver, acting by and through its Board of Water Commissioners
(Denver Water) and the South Adams County Water and Sanitation District (South Adams)
have acquired properties which are being mined or have been mined for sand and gravel.
Denver Water and South Adams are improving the properties for use for water storage. The
properties have been acquired over a period of time starting in 1998. The intent of this
Amendment is to bring several of the properties under a common permit, the permit for the
mine known as the Hazeltine Pit, Permit M-1977-153. In addition to incorporating new
parcels which are described below, the Amendment intends to incorporate the lands included
in the Brinkmann-Woodward Pit, Permit M1980-221. The locations of the Hazeltine and
Brinkmann-Woodward Pits as well as the new parcels are shown on the Reclamation Map
Exhibit F.
The Hazeltine Pit is located within what is properly referred to as Lot 1, Block 1 and Lot 1,
Block 2 of the A. F. & Sons Subdivision, which was recorded June 24, 1977, File No.
P.U.D.-167, Reception No. 80171, Adams County, Colorado. The property originally
described in Permit M-1977-153excluded 2 parcels. Those 2 parcels, described as Parcels D
and E, are now intended to be included within the permit because of the construction of the
slurry wall.
The Brinkmann-Woodward Pit, Permit M-1980-221 is located within the Brinkmann-
Woodward Pit No. 1 Subdivision, consisting of what is properly referred to as Lot 1, Block 1
and Lot 1, Block 2.
