S-41098 (AG) J. Burton Tuttle
Section 32: E/2, E/2 SW/4 and SWA NW/4 (Halbert Tuttle, Mgr.)
Access to the above described lands is requested in order for our company and
consultants to perform various minimal disturbance walk-on environmental monitoring
activities, such as geologic field mapping, hydrologic studies, vegetation studies and soil
sampling in order to obtain baseline data to be used in the course of preparing an
application for a State Coal Mining Permit.
Any significant disturbance activities, such as core drilling, have already been handled
through Mr. Mark Davis under Exploration Permit 92575 or will be handled through an
application for a Special Use Permit at such time as certain site specific activities can be
identified. We will make every effort to work with your lessees to locate the time and
place of these activities where they will not interfer with other uses of the propertv,
especially during lambing and hunting seasons.
The State and your lessees should understand that monitoring activities are often done
outside the boundary where actual mining will occur, so such activities do not necessarily
indicate that actual mining operations will be conducted on these lands in the future.
The right of entry is requested for the period commencing May 27, 1996 and ending
December31, 1997.
I have contacted Ms. Beverly Rave with your Craig District Office by telephone on May
1, 1996 to explain our request for this right of entry.
