The NPL is X1 and the highest value in the acceptable data set is
X2 in the Dixon equation. My mistake was in looking at the second number in the
acceptable data set as X2, which is wrong.
Thanks for picking that up.
-Allen
-----Original Message-----
From: Celina Akin [mailto:cakinpamericansoda.com]
Sent: Wednesday, November 03, 2004 2:49 PM
To: 'Sorenson, Allen'
Subject: RE: TR-Q4 NPLS and EWIS, etc.
Allen,
I believe that I know the answer to this question but I wanted to confirm
with you just in case I am off base.
In your example that you sent me using the 21-3U Boron baseline data, you
rejected the high data point value of 7 mg/L and moved to the next point of
3.2 mg/L which was an acceptable data point from the criteria of the Dixon
calculations. When you gave the example of solving the Dixon calculation
for NPL you used 3.12 as in Q=0.546=(NPL-3.12)/(NPL-2.8)instead of 3.2 as
shown here Q=0.546=(NPL-3.2)/(NPL-2.8) I have established a spreadsheet t0
automatically run through these calculations for me and I am prepared to
generate the graphs showing the NPL and EWI levels but I believe that you
meant to use 3.2 instead of 3.12 since that is the highest acceptable data
value.
Please confirm this and if I am incorrect I will modify my spreadsheet prior
to running them.
Thanks,
Celina
-----Original Message-----
From: Sorenson, Allen [mailto:allen.sorenson~state.co.us]
Sent: Tuesday, October 26, 2004 8:37 PM
To: 'cakin®americansoda.com'
1
