Seeding will normally be done in the fall and/or spring when temperatures and adequate soil moisture are
present. Seeding will be accomplished by either broadcasting, or by using a seed drill. If broadcasting is used,
seed rates will be doubled. Due to the nature of the backfill material and topsoil found in the area, hay, straw or
fiber mulch is considered to be necessary. Mulching will be accomplished with a clean weed- free straw at a
rate of 2000 pounds per acre either crimped or "tacified" at 150 pounds per acre. "Biosol" fertilizer will be
applied at a rate of at least 1000 pounds per acre.
WEED CONTROL - If necessary, weed control measures will be employed for control of any nopous weed
species. Control measures will also be usedrf the growth of weed species on the reclaimed area threatens
further spread of the weeds to nearby areas. In the event that weed control is required, herbicides will be of
those that are approved by the Soil Conservation Service and applied by a licensed herbicide applier. A Weed
Control Plan will be utilized as follows:
^ Asemi-annual inspection of all disturbed areas by trained weed control personnel.
^ Treat any ident~ed infested areas with Tordon 22k Specialty Herbicide.
^ Inspect the infested area after 2 weeks and re-apply herbicide as required.
^ Inspect the site at 4-week intervals after the second inspection and re-treat as required.
^ Any weed control refuse left from previous year's growth will be burned on site.
