Stevens <br />Senior Reclamation Specialist <br />Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division ("Division") <br />1313 Sherman St. <br />Room 215 <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br />Re: Battle Mountain Resources ("BMR") - San Luis Project <br />Permit No. M-88-112 <br />BMR's Response to Technical Revision No. 008 Adequacy <br />Comments <br />Dear Mr. Stevens: <br />This letter presents BMR's response to the above- <br />referenced adequacy comments on Technical Revision No. 008. <br />BMR~s response to the adequacy comments is submitted in <br />compliance with Abatement Requirement No. 6 which was imposed <br />pursuant to the enforcement action taken by the Division at the <br />San Luis facility. BMR believes that its response addresses <br />all the comments provided to BMR by the Division on June 15, <br />1992. BMR intends to commence the procedures set forth in the <br />modified groundwater monitoring plan upon receipt of approval <br />of the modifications from your office. <br />Division Comment No. 1 <br />As regards adequacy of the program, the <br />configuration of the potentio-metric <br />surface in the area and likely direction <br />of groundwater flow are essentially <br />unknown. A considerable part of the value <br />of the proposed wells is to provide data <br />to help resolve this problem.
