VEGETATION INFORMATION
EXHIBIT J
A vegetation and soils inventory was produced by the U.S Department of Agriculture Soil
Conservation Service, J.P. Fannelt on October 1, 1992. The land area was classified as range site
in cobbly foothills.
Three vegetative communities exist within the site. Dry or irrigated fields exist along the
western border of the site. 'these fields are bordered by dry rangeland slopes. 't'he doors of the
valleys and gullies have a similar vegetive cover as the dry rangeland slopes. The only difference
is a much thicker under story vegetative density. A table for each community's existing species
and approximate distribution can be seen below.
DRY OR IItRIGATED FIELD
PLANT PERCENT OF VEGETATION COVER
'timothy 25%
Brome 25%
Orchardgrass 25%
Total Cover 75%
DRY RANGELAND SLOPES /VALLEY FLOOR
PLANT PERCENT OF BASAL VEGETATION COVER
Western Wheatgrass
Indian Ricegrass
Bluegrass
Prairie Junegrass
Needleandthread grass
Big Sagebrush
Rabbitbrush
Total Cover
20%
15%
10%
IO%
5%
10%
5%
75%
Cugnini 12/03 33
