RECLAlVIATION PLAN
1. General Reclamation Plan
EXHIBIT E
The mining areas will be reclaimed in two ditlerent forms. The flat areas will be reclaimed as
irrigated pastures. The irrigation water will be provided by the land owner from existing ditches.
The sloped areas will be classified as dry rangeland. The breakdown of the final reclaimed acre-
ages is given in the table below. Soil preparation for both reclamation areas will he identical.
Due to limited topsoil, fines will be blended into the topsoil to provide a minimum of 6 inches of
growth. media. For the mining areas the blend will be 50% topsoil and 50% fines. The staging
area and the valley fill will have to be a 25% topsoil to 75% fines mix due to the extreme lack of
available topsoil. "1'he only available topsoil for the Staging Area and Valley Fill area exist in a
small stockpile of 5,684 CY near the well pad as seen in Map C-1. Overall, all areas will have a
minimum of 6" of blended topsoil medium. Extra natural fines may also be used to increase this
depth
Reclamation Areas
Area Acreage
Irrigated Pasture 67.31
Dry Rangeland Slopes 19.65
Undisturbed (Dry rangeland slopes) 12.22
Total Permit Area 99.18
Map F shows all the final contours and reclamation areas planned for the site. Map C-3 shows the
cross-sections of the reclaimed len~aur in comparison with the original terrain, The landowner
wishes for the main access ramp to remain and may chose to allow the small southern access ramp
to remain. All slopes will be reclaimed to a 2H:1 V or milder grade. As explained earlier, some
natural fines may be used to lessen these slopes. As mining areas aze mined out the slopes will
promptly be reclaimed. By this method of concurrent reclamation, the overall disturbed azea will
be kept to a minimum. The North Pit wi]] be the first azea reclaimed. As the South Pit progresses,
each of its azea's slopes will be reclaimed. The flat bench areas will remain unreclaimed until the
Cugnini.12/03 21
