Box 162
Green Mountain Falls, Co. 80819
To Whom It May Concern:
... ~ yicgY
We aze requesting a technical revision to the existing mining permit for the Houchin
Pit, 8730 West Highway 24, Chipita Pazk, Colorado.
We currently mine 3 acres using a reclamation slope of 3-1. We are requesting a change
to a high wall and bench. The adjacent previous mining operation, (to the west), is a 2-1
slope with bench high wall. Highway 24 road cuts are also 2-1 grade making our 3-1
grade out of sync compared to adjacent cuts.
We were inspected on December 12,1996 by Tom Schreiner. Pazagraph five of his report
states a revision would be encouraged, (copy enclosed).
We have contacted Tom Terry of CTL-Thompson Geological Engineer and a copy of his
report will be included with this letter.
This letter is not a request to mine more area, only to change the existing slope in the
currently mined azea.
Thank you,
Curt Houchin
Charles Houchin
719-684-9285
719-684-9766
